Trip Overview
You can make an outstanding trek in eastern Nepal from either Hile or Tumlingtar by walking north up the Arun River to Sedua and Num, then crossing Shipton La into the upper Barun Khola Valley for a close look at Makalu & Chamlang. The trek to Makalu base camp visits one of the most remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal. The Burun valley is part of a huge international protected area under an agreement between Nepal & China Some groups have attempted an even wilder trek by crossing Sherpani Col & west Col into the upper Hongu Besi. This trek has proved itself difficult & potentially very dangerous. If you want to go into the upper Hongu Besi & the Panch Pokhari situated there.
Trip Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrive at Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel
Day 02 : Peppering permit and sightseeing in Kathmandu Hotel.
Day 03 : Kathmandu – Tumlingtar by flight & Jeep to Num via chichila Danda (1,560 m).Camp
Day 04 : Trek Num to Sedua (1,150 m) (5/6 hrs). Camp
Day 05 : Trek Sedua to Tashi Gaon (2,100 m) (5 hrs).Camp
Day 06 : Rest for acclimatization. Camp
Day 07 : Trek Tashi Gaon to Khongbala (3,470 m) (6 hrs). Camp
Day 08 : Trek Khongbala to Mumbuk (3,520 m) (5 hrs). Camp
Day 09 : Trek Mumbuk to Nhe Kharka (3,320 m) (6 hrs). Camp
Day 10 : Trek Nhe Kharka to Sherson (4, 6630 m) (7 hrs). Camp
Day 11 : Trek Sherson to Makalu Base Camp (4, 8700 m) (4/5 hrs). Camp
Day 12 : Explore Makalu Base Camp.
Day 13 : Trek Makalu Base Camp to Nhe Kharka (4,320m) (7 hrs). Camp
Day 14 : Trek Nhe kharka to Mumbuk (3,520 m) (6 hrs). Camp
Day 15 : Trek Mumbuk to Khongma or Tashi Gaun. (3,470m) (5 hrs).
Day 16 : Trek Kauma to Tashi Gaon (2,100 m) (5 hrs). Camp
Day 17 : Trek Tashi Gaun to Pukuwa (1,200 m) (6 hrs). Camp
Day 18 : Trek Pukuwa to Bamling (370 m) (5 hrs). Camp
Day 19 : Trek Bumling to Tumlingtar (410 m) (4 hrs). Camp.
Day 20 : Tumlingtar - Kathmandu by flight Hotel.
Day 21 : Free shopping or sightseeing Kathmandu Hotel.
